EU US Sign Data Agreement

"WASHINGTON (AP) -- U.S. and European Union officials signed an anti-terrorism agreement on Friday for sharing passenger data on transoceanic flights, saying it provides adequate privacy protection to air passengers.

During the signing ceremony, Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge, EU President Noel Fahey and European Union Ambassador Gunter Burghardt said the agreement was essential to guarding against terrorism.
