Travel Agents Warn Customers About Cruise

Some travel agents are warning customers that service aboard Hawaii's newest inter-island cruise ship won't be good.

Passengers on the ship told KITV 4 News Wednesday about slow service, unsanitary conditions and bad food. Some of them are leaving the cruise early.

Non-Stop Travel books between 25 and 50 cruises a week on the Pride of Aloha. Most of those customers live in Hawaii. The company president said they're warning customers about the problems.

"The warning is that the service level is not up to par as it should be and if you traveled on a cruise ship before, you might be disappointed," Non-Stop Travel President Danny Ching said.

Non-Stop Travel agents are suggesting customers concerned about the complaints go on other cruises instead.

Non-Stop Travel isn't the only agency making the warning.

"We felt obligated," said Courtland Newberry, president of Costco Travel. "We just don't want to have their vacations spoiled."

The cruise company has apologized to its passengers and has offered $35 rebates and a discount on future cruises.
