Airline pilot faces drink charge
A British pilot has been charged with preparing to fly an aircraft at Heathrow while under the influence of alcohol, Scotland Yard said yesterday.
Airline captain Charles Eric Nicholls is accused of being over the alcohol limit as he prepared to fly the passenger plane out of London on July 1 this year.
The 53-year-old was breath-tested and arrested before the Royal Brunei Airlines flight left for Brunei. A replacement pilot was found and the plane took off two hours late.
