September 29, 200418-hour journey a Tube travel record
TWO British men have set a new record for visiting all 275 stations on the London Underground railway network, shaving 43 minutes off the previous fastest time. It took Geoff Marshall, 32, and Neil Blake, 31, a total of 18 hours, 35 minutes and 43 seconds to dash through every station on the 408km network, known as the Tube. It was the seventh attempt by Marshall, a computer expert, to beat the record. The six previous bids failed for a series of reasons - missed connections, breakdowns, heatwave and a knee injury. For the latest bid he went into training for six days to get fit and identify the ideal itinerary using the Tube's 12 lines. Continued here Comments
