ASHEVILLE - A traveler who an Asheville Regional Airport security screener thought might be carrying explosives had computer equipment and bottles, according to the airport director.

Officials let the unidentified man continue on his way after they detained him for about three hours, shutdown and evacuated the airport terminal and brought in a bomb squad to examine his briefcase, said airport Director Dave Edwards.

The officials determined the man had some computer equipment, other business-related materials and bottles of water. The way it was packed made the screener suspicious, Edwards said.
