Thailand tourist numbers plummet
Tourist arrivals at Bangkok's international airport have plunged 27 per cent in recent days, prompting the tourism ministry to look at ways to lure back visitors after a deadly tsunami that killed thousands along Thailand's popular southern beaches.
"The drop in tourist arrivals during the first three days of January marked a clear sign that the tsunami has had a psychological impact on tourism," said Tourism and Sports Minister Sontaya Kunplome.
