Virgin America delays start
Branson's airline apparently needs more investors

Virgin America's takeoff has been delayed.
The low-cost carrier, backed by British entrepreneur Richard Branson, announced plans last year to begin flying by mid-2005, with much of its operations based in and around San Francisco International Airport.
But now industry experts say Virgin won't be able to take off until 2006 at the earliest.
