YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK – Buses belching exhaust as they waited for space in the packed parking lot. Stinky restrooms with lines snaking around a dilapidated building. Cracked and crumbling trails.
The old approach to the 2,425-foot upper and lower Yosemite Falls, among the most visited spots in Yosemite National Park, hadn't been improved in decades, and it clearly detracted from the area's natural beauty.
