Mica: Raise security fee on airline tickets

SANFORD -- Congressman John Mica, chairman of the House aviation subcommittee, said Monday he supports doubling the security fee on airline tickets to pay for new technologies that would make airports safer.
The Transportation Security Administration, the government agency that handles security at airports, should rely more on newer technologies and less on a massive work force, Mica said. But that would cost more money.
